Meet the 16 Distinguished Individuals Jurying the 2026 CODAawards

Each year, the CODAawards jury brings together a diverse group of voices tasked with evaluating the evolving landscape of commissioned art; more importantly, they reflect the many ways public art is experienced, challenged, and defined today. This year’s panel spans artists, architects, designers, and thought leaders whose work engages directly with the spaces and communities that public art serves.

Beyond simply recognizing technical achievement, the jury is asked to consider how projects resonate: how they shape place, invite interaction, and respond to the cultural and environmental contexts around them. It’s a perspective that mirrors the ethos of CODAworx itself: that public art is a dynamic force embedded within everyday life.

Their selections will highlight projects that push boundaries and expand expectations, not only of what public art looks like, but a whole new vision of what it does. While the entry period is underway, we invite you to get to know the individuals behind the Awards:

This year, we have refined the criteria by which our jury will be evaluating entries. These criteria are:

  • The integration of the public artwork into the project space or environment, and the impact it has on viewers
  • The collaboration process between artist/team, designers, architects, art consultants, public art agencies, and all industry professionals involved in the project
  • The excellence of the artwork within its artistic practice – recognizing outstanding creative vision and mastery of form and technique

Are you ready to take advantage of this unique opportunity to gain exposure for your work? Don’t wait to enter– the early bird entry period for the CODAawards ends April 30th. Click here to learn how to enter.
