Refik Anadol’s MACHINE DREAMS: RAINFOREST inaugural exhibition opens at DATALAND on June 20th in Downtown Los Angeles
Built in the heart of Los Angeles, a city defined by storytelling, experimentation, and the pursuit of improbable dreams, DATALAND is a living museum where human creativity, architecture, nature, data, and machine intelligences exist in continuous dialogue.
Under the artistic leadership of Refik Anadol, DATALAND was built without compromise, utilizing the most advanced technologies available and redefining artistic expression in the age of machine intelligence. Unfolding across DATALAND’s five galleries, Machine Dreams: Rainforest is Refik's ambitious vision to reveal the invisible intelligence of the natural world through interrelated sensory experiences that bring audiences into direct, immediate contact with nature’s complexity. Through advanced AI systems processing immense ecological datasets and biofeedback from audiences in real time, the works generate an emergent, living reality.
DATALAND is located at The Grand LA, the Frank Gehry designed development in Downtown Los Angeles joining visual and performing arts institutions in the city’s cultural and civic district.
