Pergola Garden uploaded by Polymetis Projects Inc.
Pergola Garden is a corten steel sculptural pergola installed in Richmond, Ontario. Inspired by the tidal cycles of the Fraser River, the sculpture consists of a fluid, landform-like structure punctuated by circular openings that animate the space with sunlight. Climbing vines integrate the work into the park’s ecology, creating a butterfly and bee habitat, while the garden serves as both a social space and evolving sculptural landmark.
RISE uploaded by Matthew Mazzotta
RISE is a larger-than-life kinetic sculpture, performance space, and shade structure inspired by the purple-striped jellyfish off the San Diego coast. Its vibrant, wind-swaying canopy of thousands of interconnected rings evokes underwater movement, while the stage beneath hosts live performances. At night, the sculpture glows from within, blending the beauty of marine life with San Diego’s sunsets and playing on the possibility of a real jellyfish inhabiting the space of the sculpture should sea levels rise significantly.
Ouroboros uploaded by Michael R. DiCarlo
Ouroboros is a sculptural blend of sustainability, craft, and forward-looking technology. Developed with UV Lab for the Viljandi Tuled visual arts festival, the wooden installation invites viewers to consider the cyclical nature of life. By pairing ancient symbolism with contemporary tools, it turns a timeless concept into a vivid, modern experience.
Astral Relics of the Great North Woods uploaded by FuzzPop Workshop
Astral Relics of the Great North Woods is a large-scale pneumatic sculpture and interactive environment that conjures a mythical woodland dreamscape where ancient forest spirits channel the magic of the Northern Lights, inviting visitors into a shared ritual with wilderness, community, and stars. A touring installation developed for Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI, guests wander among five intertwined cosmic beings, each more than 25 feet tall, gathered around the sculptural remnants of a tree, with interactive panels embedded in the tree to allow visitors to shape rhythms within the atmospheric soundscape, shifting the experience in real time.
Please, Stand By uploaded by w / o u t
Paint and creativity were all that was required to revive the Bushy Park bandstand in Dublin, Ireland after decades of neglect in a way which both honored the history of the place and indulged in nostalgia. Please, Stand By plays on the bandstand’s long pause in activity while inviting viewers to “stand by” in a precise spot where the anamorphic image snaps into clarity. The optical payoff appears only from the correct vantage point, creating an interactive, spatially playful experience. The test card motif also carries personal nostalgia from ’90s childhood memories of off-air screens and broadcast glitches.
Loom uploaded by ESNAL. LLC
Loom by ESNAL, LLC transforms a 1968 festival structure at Gjirokastra Castle in Albania into a vibrant, textile-inspired stage canopy overlooking the Drin River valley. Colored strings stretch between columns, the arch, and the semi-sphere like a giant loom, forming a light, airy canopy that defines both stage and backstage while evoking traditional Albanian rug patterns. Red hues, geometric blends, and the interplay of light and shadow create a dynamic, immersive experience that harmonizes with the landscape by day and stands in striking contrast at night. Installed for the 2023 Albanian National Folk Festival, Loom honors cultural heritage while offering a contemporary, visually captivating scenography for thousands of performers and visitors.
On Blank Pages uploaded by luzinterruptus luzinterruptus
On Blank Pages is a participatory, large-scale installation in Cáceres, Spain, created to launch the city’s bid for European Capital of Culture 2031. The 10-meter-diameter, 3-meter-high circular structure was covered with thousands of translucent notebooks filled by the public, which, when lit from within, formed a glowing, ever-changing archive of thoughts and reflections. Engaging citizens through workshops, on-site interventions, and online submissions, the work transformed the historic square into a living forum of collective expression, celebrating community, cultural identity, and civic participation.
