Select Finalists & Complete Your Call
Review jury results, move applicants through selection rounds, and complete the artist-selection process.
Review Jury Results
After a voting round, review the scores and results generated by your jury.
Interpret the results alongside the selection criteria established for your project rather than treating the highest score as an automatic decision unless that is how your organization's process is designed.
Consider:
- Overall results
- Individual criteria
- Jury participation
- Any incomplete scoring
Check Voting Completion
Before advancing candidates, confirm that each participating juror has reviewed the full set of applicants they were assigned.
This matters because partially completed voting can distort results.
For example, if a juror scores only some applicants, those applicants receive that juror's points while the remaining applicants don't.
CODAworx therefore recommends completing jury voting before moving forward whenever possible.
Advance Applicants
Once you've reviewed the round, choose which candidates should continue.
Only advance applicants according to your organization's selection criteria and established process.
Applicants who aren't moving forward should remain outside the next voting round.
Create Another Round
If another stage is needed, create a new round for the candidates who advanced.
For each new round:
- Configure the round.
- Choose the scoring method.
- Assign the appropriate jurors.
- Share the voting round.
- Allow voting to finish.
- Review the new results.
Jurors aren't automatically carried into every round, so confirm round assignments each time.
Use the Final Round
When you've narrowed the pool to your final candidates, configure the round as a Final Round.
A Final Round is designed for the last stage of artist selection and supports notifications associated with finalists and non-advancing applicants.
Before finalizing your decision:
- Confirm voting is complete
- Review final candidates
- Check any required internal approvals
- Follow your organization's established selection process
Complete the Selection Process
Once your final candidate has been identified, complete the selection workflow and follow the appropriate communication process for your call.
Artist selection is the end of the CODAcommission application process, but usually the beginning of the actual commission.
From here, your organization may move into:
- Artist contracting
- Design development
- Site coordination
- Fabrication
- Installation
- Other project-specific stages
For broader guidance on planning the commission itself, see Find Artists & Plan Your Commission.
