CODAworx Member Mirek Struzik Debuts New Sculptures

CODAworx member Mirek Struzik has recently debuted three new projects around the world. Struzik is known for his floral patterns. He focuses on transitioning these biological micro structures into the macro scale of sculptures. His sculptures are meant to be freely interpreted by the viewer, as each person’s imagination can see and understand them in a completely different way. Made in stainless steel and illuminated with RGB LEDs, these sculptures undergo a metamorphosis at dusk, when the illumination turns on and transforms their character completely.

Flight of the Seven Continents is a stainless steel sculpture by Mirek Struzik at the Fresno International Airport. It hangs above the entrance to the new Concourse B, representing the movement of travelers across the globe and honoring the airport's expansion which includes international service. The sculpture is part of the 98,000 square foot, $150 million airport expansion project completed in December 2025. Struzik's dynamic, abstract composition was inspired by trajectories of planes moving passengers around the world. Viewers can see their reflections in mirror-like surfaces of the globes changing as they move underneath the sculpture when they on the escalator in this new terminal.

Dandelions is Struzik's signature series of monumental public art installations. These sculptures are crafted from high-quality acid-resistant stainless steel and are designed to capture the delicate, airy nature of real dandelions while scaling them up to as high as 24 feet. Struzik analyzes biological microstructures and transposes them to a macro scale to highlight nature's forgotten beauty. In 2025, Autorita di Sistema Portuale del Mare di Sardegna ordered a set of four pieces in a prestigious spot in the city center of Caligari, Italy to decorate a newly redone boulevard along the coast.

Bubble Flowers Uploaded by STRUZIK ART LTD

Struzik's Bubble Flowers is a monumental public art installation located at the entrance of the Tongluo Science Park in Miaoli County, Taiwan. Unveiled in early 2026, the sculpture serves as a welcoming landmark for the high-tech facility. The artwork is a blend of local tradition and future-oriented technology; the design is inspired by chrysanthemum flowers, which the Tongluo region is famous for, and the advanced technology developed within the science park. Like many of Struzik's works, it features an integrated RGB LED lighting system. It is intended to speak to local workers and residents through symbols of their own heritage while reflecting the cutting-edge nature of the park.
